Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Scroll Shot is a Chrome extension that autoscrolls web pages and captures screenshots. This policy explains what data the extension handles. In short: Scroll Shot does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
Data we collect
None. Scroll Shot has no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party code. It makes no network requests of its own.
Data stored on your device
- Settings such as scroll speed, direction, loop, pause between shots, overlap, and stitching are saved with Chrome's local extension storage (
chrome.storage.local). They never leave your browser. - Screenshots you capture are saved as image files to your Downloads folder through Chrome's downloads feature. They are not sent anywhere.
Removing the extension deletes its stored settings. Screenshot files stay in your Downloads folder until you delete them.
Why the extension needs its permissions
- Access to all sites (
<all_urls>), activeTab, and scripting: to scroll the page or the element you pick, highlight it while you choose, and capture the visible area of the tab you are using. - downloads: to save your screenshots as files.
- storage: to remember your settings between sessions.
- sidePanel: to show the controls in Chrome's side panel.
Page content is only read locally to measure and scroll the target. It is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Limited use
Scroll Shot's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
